Decision Support Reflection
Today Mikal and I job shadowed in Decision Support. To start off the morning, the Decision Support team met outside the conference room to listen to the daily report. In their daily report, they recognize individuals who have performed duties beyond their job description. Also, in the daily report is any news feed or announcements to get the day going. They also explained to me about the
effects of Obama care and what it would do to their hospital. In some ways they
would have a major deficit, but in other ways it benefited the hospital. We then met with a variety of different people that discussed their job fields such as writing grants and analyzing spending. Overall, the Decision Support team of the Freeman hospital is a well-knitted and friendly group. Although the shadowing process was a little dry and I didn’t really see myself working in such a department, I did enjoy the workers and their environment.
